Visual identity for Nike’s “What Are You Working On?” video series, a fully analog design system celebrating athletes’ works in progress through stop-motion, hand lettering, and custom elements.

To illustrate the Work in Progress idea, we've created an entirely analog identity, using Akzidenz-Grotesk typeface on Letraset, hand lettering, and several hand drawn doodles.

The word YOU keeps changing throughout the show to highlight the different personalities of the athletes. Each of them have its own color and it’s own handwritten name, matching the word YOU from the logo to create a bespoke identity for each athlete.

The logo animation is also fully analog and created using the stop-motion process by transferring the letters from the Letraset to paper at different stages of their composition.

In addition to all the assets designed for the new identity of the show, we created an animated version of the Swoosh for the closing sequence of each episode. Designed with a multitude of tools (marker, brush, Krink, pen, pencil, Sharpie, chalk…) the animation illustrates the Work in Progress idea, but also highlights the different personalities of the athletes.
