Tactile
Branding
Tactile is a Paris-based coffee shop founded by world champion barista and mixologist Pierre de Chanterac. More than a traditional café, Tactile was conceived as a sensory experience, where every detail celebrates the diversity and complexity of coffee.

Studio Tyrsa was commissioned to create the brand identity, developing a visual language rooted in the idea of touch, movement, and transformation. At its core is a bespoke wordmark featuring elegant, sophisticated letterforms that gradually expand from a finer stroke to a thicker base, evoking the image of a vessel being filled.

Alongside the typography, we designed a flexible symbol inspired by two hands coming together. Their intersection creates a droplet at the center, a direct reference to both the tactile experience and the essence of coffee itself.

The symbol was conceived as a living device capable of expressing the many personalities of coffee, from bold and intense to delicate and light, from explosive and vibrant to smooth and subtle. As a result, the logo continuously evolves, changing according to the coffees of the week and appearing in different variations across menus, embossed cups, and social media.

This ever-changing system gives Tactile a dynamic and evolving identity, reflecting the infinite nuances and sensory richness of the world of coffee.
